A Tach using a spinning optical wheel which allows head speed review while the helicopter is in the air.  Point the unit at the heli and use the increase and decrease buttons to stop the blades moving in the viewing window.  Once the speed is the same the blades (main) stop moving and hey thats the head speed.  The speed is displayed on the LCD screen provided on the back of the unit.

Unit is powered by a 9V cell and requires a 2nd person to operate and take the readings.  No Fuss No messing just simple and easy to use.  Monitors normal head speeds ie 1000-2400 rpm.
