The new Raptor 60 to 80/90 Conversion Kit quickly converts a Raptor 60 helicopter for using 80/90 size engines. The benefit of a bigger engine is lower engine rpm and a quieter flying model. Of course, a bigger engine means your Raptor 60 will fly even faster and climb like a rocket.
The Conversion Kit includes a 11-tooth clutch pinion to reduce the main rotor gear ratio from 9.3 to 8.45 to optimize the engine to rotor power transfer. Our engineers have designed a new heavy duty centrifugal clutch and clutch bell to absorb the extra engine torque. This enlarged clutch system can also be used for aggressive 3-D pilots on their existing Raptor 60. A longer tail boom and drive shaft permits using up to 710 mm length rotor blades. A larger fuel tank is included to extend your fun.
A new engine mount is not required. Most 80 to 90 size heli engines have the same dimension as 60 engines. We recommend using a 90 size muffler for the bigger engines (not included.) Optional carbon graphite sideframes are available to save weight and add strength.
